Happy Hounding Starts HERE !!
Feeling discouraged today – – ever felt like you are peddling as hard as you can but getting nowhere?? (the hamster on the wheel image comes to mind) Trying to make connections – learn – add info – post “stuff” — just so daunting — AAARRRGGHHH !!!! This is how I feel (see mopey coonhound below)
Once again hound awesomeness rules !!!
SOOOOO Riley invited a new friend over today. Hounds are notoriously friendly with other dogs – they are bred to work together in packs – Jed and Riley B were awesome. My hairstylist Jordan and I were so impressed with how they handled playing together for the first time. They ran, they leaped, they played, they rested, they ran, and played some more. They barked in unison at my landlord’s dog next door (defending the homeland). So proud of our two awesome hounds !!!

Quick post – long day !! Had a fun outing with my high school girlfriends, and Riley got to go to Happy Spot – Jennifer caught Riley B in action – ruling the roost, hanging out in the office and having a happy houndie good ole time !! Silly hound !!
Did I mention Riley B’s new friends ? And hounds are great with other dogs because they are bred to work in groups ?? Well look at these manners!!
WHAT ??? Are you crazy ??? You can’t take a COONHOUND to the dog park ! Oh yes you can — Coonhounds are notoriously friendly — they are bred to work in groups right?? Once again Riley is a super star. We made new friends – two German Shepherds and a Beagle mix , ran, played, bayed arrrooooo and got soaking wet – (caught in a rain shower) Ever the adaptable hound, Riley was a star !!
And the ride to the dog park ?? Well just look at this cruising coonhound == can you say #hounddoghappy??
I can’t explain it but I know it is so true – dogs make everything better, happier, kinder — not having the best day – some “gray area” items that are not resolved and driving me crazy – sooooo I look to Dr Riley B – he has been waiting patiently to go for a walk — I have been moping around ! LOL
He makes me smile when I really don’t feel like it !!!
Who cannot smile and feel better when they see this houndie ??
Riley was awesome on our walk today — he did “sit stay” while two ladies went by – they were walking and just raving about how cute he was as they went past us — Riley stayed right with me although I could tell he was just DYING to go meet the ladies –

My first waking thought was – I have SOOO much to learn about blogging but I am on a mission to help hounds. Those of you that are into dog rescue can feel my pain – the elation when a deserving houndie gets adopted – the despair when you hear of those that did not make it out of the shelter- so frustrating and devastating – soooooo my “big dream” is to generate whatever sponsors, donations ANYTHING to be able to say — “yes I can help that one” — Be prepared to be “hounded” for help with getting my blog out to many many people !!! My loyal sidekick Riley B is all on board — he was up VERY early this morning VERY early !!!
