Quite the adventure with Riley B yesterday. I decided to try some new experiences. Sooo he came with me to the salon  to watch me get a hair cut. It was not a busy time so thought it would be ok. Riley was a star !! He waited patiently right by the chair or looked out the window, and only went to visit another area when provoked ! I mean what dog can resist “OHHHH what a cute dog!  OH sweetie come over here ! OH look how cute he is!”   I mean REALLY ??

And then ? On to the fabulous Bluegrass Barkery.  What an awesome store.  Riley and I cannot say enough good things about it. Always super clean, staff is so helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.  We love it! The biggest problem is deciding on which treats to purchase there are SO many choices. Riley B is still an “Acana” man — They are his favorite.

Once again hound awesomeness rules !!!

SOOOOO  Riley invited a new friend over today. Hounds are notoriously friendly with other dogs – they are bred to work together in packs  – Jed and Riley B  were awesome. My hairstylist  Jordan and I were so impressed with how they handled playing together for the first time. They ran, they leaped, they played, they rested, they ran, and played some more.  They barked in unison at my landlord’s dog next door (defending the homeland).  So proud of our two awesome hounds !!!

Did I mention Riley B’s new friends ? And hounds are great with other dogs because they are bred to work in groups ?? Well look at these manners!!

Riley was awesome on our walk today — he did “sit stay” while two ladies went by  – they were walking and just raving about how cute he was as they went past us — Riley stayed right with me although I could tell he was just DYING to go meet the ladies   –

Riley is becoming quite the obedient hound !! Super great on the leash tonight !! (off leash is really his specialty !)  We passed joggers, bicyclists, AND another dog with no major incidents.

HOWEVER  – there was this pesky squirrel that was his undoing !!!  (Squirrel encounter needs work)
